I. About the Track:
1. The track itself is 200 ft long and 40 ft wide. 2. We race side by side. 3. EMT service will be on site. 4. Sheriff’s Deputies will be on site for security. 5. The racing facility is insured. 6. We have permanent restrooms with showers & concessions on site. 7. We use photocell timing with Christmas tree. 8. We can be found on the Web @ www.thundervalleymotorplex.com
II. Track Rules:
1. Glass containers are prohibited.
2. Once registered in a class there will be absolutely No Refunds for any reason.
3. Driver must sign release form to compete.
4. All minor participants must have parent’s written consent
5. Any complaints concerning the race must go directly to the tech man . And may only be submitted by the contestants. * Do not approach any other staff members with complaints. *)
6. If there is a problem other than something to do with the race you may go to the scoring tower. Please ..Don’t question staff in the tower Why? See Joe Floyd.
7. Yearly Points will be determined by Truck Not Driver, but it must be the same Truck. (1) 8. If you register your truck in the same class more than once, you will only get the highest position your truck finished (the highest points and money).
9. Do not ask for Pay Outs - We will call you when they are ready.
10. Officials have the right to cancel classes.
11. Official’s decisions are final.
12. Tech men are pit chiefs and all calls will be their decision
13. By judgement of the official, any driver that is intoxicated will be disqualified. You will not receive a refund.
14. There is a 5mph speed limit in the pits and spectator area at all times.
15. All vehicles must be operated in a safe manner at all times, or disqualification will occur.
16. Everyone must obey track barricades, fencing, and etc
17. Once you break the beam, you must run.
18. Glass containers are not allowed in vehicles.
19. Driver must wear protective headgear and seat belts.
20. A vehicle is considered out of bounds if you hit guardrail and will be disqualified
21. Vehicles may enter any class in which it meets the requirements.
22. The second run will be in the same order but opposite lanes.
23. Drivers may have one pit crewmember. Once a truck enters the staging area the pit crew member must be behind the staging line.
24. Each vehicle has two minutes in the pit.
25. Only one roll through at starting line per class.
26. All vehicles have 2 minutes to be in position after the starter has called the vehicle number. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that they can hear the announcer and be ready when their class is called.
27. Each driver must have front and rear tow hooks, and have a way to attach a cable to the vehicle.
28. All vehicles must have operating brakes.
29. Only track personal and contestants are allowed on the track
30. A two-pound fire extinguisher is required in all vehicles.
31. After each class there will be a 10-minute time limit before that class will be declared official.
32. If you race/test your racing vehicles anywhere besides on the track – you will be jeopardizing points that will be going toward year ending “Championship Points.”
33. The track has a right to do a random fuel check at anytime, on any truck, for any fuel additives.
34. All rules are made to provide equal and fair representation for everyone. To have a successful run you must have rules that are fair for all and most of all provide a safe environment. We strive each year through your efforts to improve our rules for the betterment of mud racing.
35. All classes must wear neck braces.
36. The rules and regulations committee of the Thunder Valley Motorplex will make any modifications, interpretation, verification and final decision of these rules and regulations.
37. All entries are responsible for remaining in compliance with rules and regulations listed herein, as well as any announcements made by the officials. Conduct Rule: ALL DRIVERS SHALL CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN AN ORDERLY MANNER. PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR VERBAL ABUSE OF ANY INDIVIDUAL, OFFICIAL, PARTICIPANT, SPECTATORS, ETC WILL SUBJECT THE OFFENDER TO IMMEDIATE EJECTION !!! IF YOU DON’T OBEY THE CONDUCT RULE AND GET EJECTED, DON’T ASK FOR A SECOND CHANCE, THERE WILL BE NONE !!! THIS ALSO GOES FOR ANY PIT CREW MEMBERS.
III. Protest Rules
1. Protest Fee: $200.00 per item in whatever class it pertains to.
2. If a protest occurs the competitor who is protesting must put up $200.00, the protested competitor does not put up any money.
3. If you protest and the tech man has already received the money and you{protester} back out, the protested competitor will receive $150.00 and the track will receive the other $50.
4. If the protested competitor is legal, he/she will receive $150.00; the track will receive $50.
5. If the protested competitor is illegal the protester will get $150.00 of his/hers money back, the track will receive $50.
ATVS:
1. Must have helmets,neck braces, and long pants.
IV. Points System
4 Trucks or More:
Finished Points Finished Points
& Below 23 Trucks or Less :Finished Points
*All Participants will receive # of Entries plus their regular points. Examples: 15 trucks in the class: 1st place – 215pts. 2nd place – 190pts. 3rd place – 170pts.
3 trucks in the class: 1st place –178pts. 2nd place – 158pts 3rd place – 143pts
. V. Class Rules
*** STREET *** -- Stock, factory trucks only. –
1. Stock, factory trucks with lift kits and tires only. 2. Must show “current” license plate, insurance card, and registration card. 3. No nitrous equipment on the vehicles at all. If you are caught with nitrous on the truck, you will be disqualified and be suspended for 1 race. ( No money or points) 4. Factory headers are o.k. but must be capped. 5. Factory aluminum intake is o.k. 6. Must wear helmet and seatbelt when racing. 7. Same size tire all the way around truck. 8. Factory trucks-no cams. 9. Break out rule of 5 seconds applies to this class.
*** STREET MODIFIED *** -- Trucks with modifications but street legal --
1. Trucks with little modifications but street legal. ROLL CAGE IF FASTER THAN 4.1 OR IF TOP IS REMOVED. 2. If equipped with other than factory fuel pump - a kill switch is mandatory in the rear (center) of the truck. 3. Racing seats are O.K. But must have factory dash, compartments, door panels, windows & gauges.
4. Full front and rear bumpers are mandatory.
5. Factor y suspension - Ladder Bars or one straight bar from the frame to the rear end is okay.
6. Fuel cell or batteries in the bed of the truck is O.K. but securely fastened.
7. No nitrous equipment on the vehicles at all.
8. Break Out Rule: WILL BE SET THE DAY OF THE RACE. 9. MUST HAVE SAFETY NEUTRAL SWITCH.
***A PRO *** --- Slightly Modified Vehicles ---
1. No gutting of the body, except for replacing the factory seat with a racing seat, with a five point harness and fender trimming for tires is okay.
2. All trucks must have all glass windows and windshield, doors panels, bed and dash. Head lights & tail lights required. You can have plexiglass or lexan for a back glass (for roll cage purposes). WINDOW NET RECOMMENDED, WITH NO WINDOW NET DOOR WINDOW MUST BE IN UP POSITION FOR DURATION OF RUN. 3. Stock appearing body and full factory frame WITH STOCK SUSPENSION, LOCATION AND CORRECT WHEELBASE....FIBERGLASS HOOD IS OK.
4. Factory suspension with lift kit. No 3 or 4 links, sliders, floaters, or coil over adjustable racing shocks. Ladder bars acceptable.
5. Must have at least 3 main leafs in rear and 2 in the front, mounted in factory shackles. Leaf springs must push truck. SPRINGS MOUNTED TO AXLE HOUSING WITH U-BOLTS,WELDED MOUNTS AND CENTER PINS.
6. Must have front bumper – rear bumper is not necessary.
7. You can have open headers – mufflers are not required.
8. Engine in stock location with #1 spark plug in front of axle. NO ENGINE RELOCATION. 9. No Aluminum heads.
10. No Nitrous equipment on vehicles at all.
11. Fuel cells and batteries in the bed of the truck are o.k. but they must be securely fastened and inside frame rails.
12. Maximum of 510 cubic inches. Can be factory or after market block. Any after market small block over 434 cubic inches must weigh big block weight.
13. Kill switch mandatory in rear center of truck
14. Factory steering or rack & pinion is O.K
15. If you run under 4.100, you must have a 4 point roll cage fastened to the chassis
16. Weight: Small Block – 4000 lbs. With the driver Big Block – 4300 lbs. With the driver
17. Must have neutral safety switch. 18. Must have drive shaft loops ***Super Stock*** 1. Suspensions with modifications, coil over racing adjustable shocks OK leaf springs optional 2. Roll cage is mandatory, with racing seat with a five point safety harness and window net. 3.Body must maintain factory appearance, fiberglass is okay. Must have stock frame, no tube chassis or no stretched frames. Must look like a truck. 4. Maximum set back on engine is 4 inches from #1 spark plug to center of axle. 5. One singel carb. Any 4 barrel carb is ok. 6. No nitrous 7. 555 cubic inches 8. No aluminum blocks ,aluminum heads are ok. 9. Plexiglass or Lexan ok. 10. Fuel cells must be between frame rails of truck and must be securely fastened. Batteries must also be securely fastened and ok if in bed of truck. 11.Compact trucks are ok, if chassis, rules and can weigh the correct weight. 12. Weight: Small Block 2800lb with the driver and Big Block 3000lb with the driver. 13.Must have neutral safety switch and kill switch on the rear of vehicle. 14. Must have full fire suit. 15. No 4 links.
***Super Street*** 1. Full factory body with inner panels with mild gutting allowed. Fiberglass hood ok. 2. All trucks must have all glass windows and windshield, replacement of rear window allowed for roll cage purposes. Window net recommend....with no net windows must be in up position for duration of run. 3. Stock appearing body and full factory frame with stock suspension location and correct wheelbase. 4. Factory Suspension with no 3 or 4 links and no sliders or floaters. Race shocks and ladder acceptable. 5. Must have at least 3 main leafs in rear and 2 in front mounted in factory shackles. Leaf springs must push truck. 6. Engine in stock location with #1 plug in front of axle. Aluminum heads ok...must be steel block. 7. Fuel cell in bed of truck are ok must be securely fastened and in frame rails. 8. Must have 4 point roll cage fastened to chassis and 5 point harness. 9. Must have safety neutral switch and kill switch in rear. 10. Factory steering or rack and pinion ok. 11. After market transfer case ok...must have drive shaft loops. 12. Weight (With Driver) Small Block.......3600 lbs Big Block.........3900 lbs 13. 640 Cubic inches maximum engine displacement. 14. Carburetor must retain 4500 base size. Single carb only. Pro Street --- Cut Tires –
1. ANY SUSPENSION
2. ROLL CAGE AND WINDOW NET IS MANDATORY, WITH RACING SEAT AND FIVE POINT SAFETY HARNESS.
3. Body must maintain factory appearance, fiberglass is okay. Must have full factory frame WITH CROSS MEMBERS. CORRECT WHEEL BASE FOR BODY.
4. Maximum set back on engine is 4 inches from #1 spark plugs to center of axle.
5. One single carb. NO FUEL INJECTION-MUST BE CARBURETED.IF CARBURETOR DOESNT MEET 4500 SERIES BASE SIZE-SEE WEIGHT RULES.
6. No nitrous. SYSTEM MUST BE CAPPED AND UNPLUGGED 7. Unlimited cubic inches.
8. No aluminum blocks, aluminum heads are okay.
9. Plexiglas or Lexan okay
10. Fuel cells and batteries in the bed of the truck are o.k. but must be securely fastened in frame rails. 11. DRIVE SHAFT LOOPS ARE MANDATORY. 12. Weight: Small Block – 2800 lbs With the driver 555 Cubic Inches and under 3000 lbs with driver 556-599 Cubic Inches will be 3100 lbs with driver 600-655 Cubic Inches will be 3200 lbs with driver 656-699 Cubic Inches will be 3300 lbs with driver 700 plus Cubic Inches will be 3400 lbs with driver THE FOLLOWING ARE M.R.A.
